Ronkonkoma Hub's First Structure Built In "Phase 2A" At The Corner Of Hawkins Ave & Railroad Ave.

While much of the excavation looks well underway or completed, this 1st structure has finally been built. It may not look like much, but it's symbolic because of all the years of planning, meeting, discussing and yes arguing over this new community dubbed "of national significance".

The first transit oriented hub being built from a blank slate. Built at the Epicenter Of Long Island.  This section expected to be completed in about 2 years is one for the entire community to enjoy. Featuring a town square, shopping, office space and yes some more apartments.  The structure appears to be an elevator that either that 2nd hole up or the platform above will be considered ground level.

Phase 2B will be directly across on the west side of Railroad Avenue and Hawkins Avenue.

Side note, the Long Island Railroad stairs and bridge area are in poor condition. Broken bricks, step parts are coming up.
