Coming Soon: Station Yards Steps Back in Time with new ‘Artemis’ Speakeasy
Ronkonkoma, NY – 04/26/2024 – A speakeasy is joining the long list of incoming retailers at
Station Yards in Ronkonkoma. Ed Fabian of Billie’s 1890, Brendan Mooney of the Fire Island
Ferries and Shoreline Trading Company, and Anthony Vero of Aurora Contractors have teamed
up to create the new speakeasy-style bar, Artemis.
Artemis will open a 2,081-square-foot space set to provide craft cocktails to the vibrant
community growing next to the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road station. Artemis is designed
to be reminiscent of the secretive speakeasies of the 1920s and 30s, a homage to an era where
cocktails were an art form and conversations the main entertainment. The leasing brokers for
Station Yards were Maria Valanzano, Steve D’Orazio, and Jake Horowitz of Colliers. Artemis
was represented by Allen Boulos, Richard Cardona, Scott Schneider and Mathew Sullivan of
Evernest Realty.

The speakeasy is set to be a seated room only, encouraging conversation and offering a
mixology experience of the highest quality. The menu will feature both alcoholic and non-
alcoholic creations, along with member liquor lockers, special access, private events, cocktail
classes, tastings, and special events.
The name Artemis comes from a prohibition rumrunner that was a common sight along the
north and south shores of Long Island as it was ferrying spirits from Rum Row. The vessel met
its demise in a high-speed chase with a Coast Guard Cutter Black Duck off of Orient Point, a
story that ties into Brendan Mooney’s involvement with the Fire Island Ferries and Ed Fabian’s
connection to Port Jefferson.
